Surgical revenue‑cycle firm nimble solutions has purchased Contego, an out‑of‑network reimbursement specialist. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The move will allow both parties to give ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) deeper insight into payer strategy and stronger control over cash flow, according to the companies.
“At nimble, we believe surgeons should have the freedom to define the payer relationships that best support their patients and their practice,” Kelley Blair, CEO of nimble, said in a press release. “Contego’s specialization in out‑of‑network billing, predictive modeling, and legal strategy perfectly complements our mission to help ASCs and surgical practices expand patient access, optimize reimbursement, and take control of their financial future.”
ASCs face an increasingly complex revenue landscape.
In 2025, they’ve had to navigate rising denial rates and greater payer scrutiny. And while it has become trickier to get paid in some instances, centers have simultaneously faced margin pressure in the form of rising staffing and supply costs.
Contego pairs predictive payment modeling with attorney‑led claims and appeals management, aiming to protect providers while giving patients clear financial guidance.
“Joining forces with nimble is a powerful next chapter for Contego,” Liam Hughes, president of Contego Solutions, said in a press release. “nimble’s deep expertise in the surgical market and reputation for delivering results made this an ideal match. We see this as an opportunity to enhance the value we deliver to our clients and provide a supportive home for our team members. Together, we’re aligned in helping surgeons thrive.”
With Contego integrated, nimble’s expanded platform now offers full‑service revenue‑cycle support, managed‑care contracting guidance, accurate forecasting for out‑of‑network payments, legal and compliance safeguards and transparent patient communications, the companies said in a press release.
nimble works with more than 1,100 surgical organizations nationwide, including ASCs, surgical hospitals and anesthesia groups.
