Banner Health’s new project
Banner Health has officially broken ground on a new medical campus in Scottsdale, Arizona, launching the first phase of its “Banner Health Center plus” facility, which will include an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), Banner Family Pharmacy, Banner Imaging and a wide range of physician services under one roof.
“Today’s groundbreaking demonstrates Banner’s commitment to delivering more health care options close to where people live and supporting the economic vitality of our communities,” Amy Perry, Banner Health president and chief executive director, said in a press release.
Slated for completion in early 2027, the nearly 120,000-square-foot center will also feature urgent care open 365 days a year and services from Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, including radiation oncology, infusion and oncology imaging.
The project received unanimous approval from the Scottsdale Development Review Board. The facility will include rooftop solar arrays, EV charging stations and shaded pedestrian walkways.
A proposed second phase, under review later this year, would add a 350,000-square-foot full-service hospital with a 24/7 emergency department and 106 inpatient beds. The entire privately funded campus is expected to create 2,500 new jobs and deliver nearly $400 million in annual economic benefit once operational.
NYU Langone expands in Suffolk County with new ambulatory facility – surgery center to follow
NYU Langone Health has opened a new ambulatory care facility in Westhampton Beach, New York, reinforcing its commitment to expanding access across Long Island’s East End. The site will house 14 exam rooms, and offer primary care, cardiology and endocrinology services through five providers.
“We’re thrilled to continue our expansion of NYU Langone’s world-class ambulatory care system on the East End of Long Island,” Dr. Andrew W. Brotman, executive vice president and chief clinical officer, said in a press release. “This facility underscores our commitment to patients in Suffolk County and our mission of bringing world-class care closer to where patients live and work.”
The Westhampton facility complements existing NYU Langone Medical Associates locations in Bridgehampton and Riverhead, as well as NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk, in Patchogue, which joined the system in March after a three-year affiliation.
In addition, construction is underway on a six-OR ASC on Patchogue’s Main Street. That facility will include four procedure rooms and is expected to open in 2026. It is designed to provide a broad range of outpatient surgical services in a patient-friendly setting.
“As with all our new locations, our design approach prioritizes the patient experience, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment,” Vicki Match Suna, executive vice president for real estate development and facilities, told local news. “It also aligns with Westhampton’s architectural style and draws inspiration from its surrounding coastlines.”
VCU Health breaks ground on Chesterfield Pavilion, featuring surgery center and medical offices
VCU Health has broken ground on a new ASC and medical office building in Chesterfield County, one of Virginia’s most populous localities. The four-story, 100,000-square-foot Chesterfield Pavilion will expand outpatient access to oncology, gynecology, urology, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and other specialty services.
The pavilion, located at 7000 Commons Plaza, will include a four-OR ASC and two procedure rooms. The adjoining medical office building will house over 45 exam and procedure rooms, with services provided by VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center and other VCU Health specialists.

“We are proud to bring the same known and trusted expertise close to home for the Chesterfield community,” Dr. Marlon Levy, CEO of VCU Health System, said in a press release.
TriaVision gets green light for new eye surgery center
A new eye-focused ambulatory surgery center is on the horizon for Jefferson County, Alabama.
The State Health Planning and Development Agency approved a Certificate of Need (CON) for TriaVision, through its subsidiary, Colonnade Surgical Partners LLC, to develop and operate a single-specialty ASC in the Colonnade area of Birmingham.
The facility will house two operating rooms, and it is designed to meet the rising demand for surgical eye care across central Alabama.
“As the U.S. health care system continues to evolve, the future of vision care will be defined by access, quality outcomes, business efficiencies and patient satisfaction,” Dr. Virginia Lolley, ophthalmologist at TriaVision, said in a press release. “Ambulatory surgery centers allow us to deliver the highest quality care in a fraction of the time and at a lower cost to the patient. This is about ensuring Alabamians have access to world-class eye care, right here at home.”
According to the organization, the project aims to support medical autonomy and physician-led innovation by offering a more efficient, cost-effective model for outpatient eye surgery. The initiative received strong backing from local eye care professionals, who submitted letters of support urging the agency to approve the project.
TriaVision expects to open the new center in early 2026.
