Cleveland Clinic unveils outpatient expansion
Cleveland Clinic unveiled plans to build a new hospital and expand outpatient services in Palm Beach County, Florida including an ambulatory surgery center (ASC).
The proposed inpatient hospital will feature approximately 150 beds, an emergency department, a medical office building and the ASC. In addition, Cleveland Clinic will vastly increase its outpatient footprint, nearly quadrupling its current space to include infusion services, imaging, endoscopy and outpatient surgery.
Key specialties expected to be offered in the expanded facilities include heart, vascular and thoracic care, digestive disease care, neurological services, and cancer care, with the flexibility to add more specialties as needed.
This expansion will bolster Cleveland Clinic’s integrated network spanning from Weston Hospital in South Florida northward through Martin, Tradition and Indian River hospitals.
Sutter Health gears up for outpatient expansion
Sutter Health is investing $800 million to develop two large, non-hospital campuses in Santa Clara, TKTK. The facilities, totaling 1 million square feet of outpatient services, will include primary and specialty care, imaging, lab work and ambulatory surgery.
The goal is to reduce local ER overcrowding by providing alternative sites for in-demand procedures and same-day surgical care, Sutter executives told local news.
The east campus will house an ambulatory surgery center, urgent care site, and specialty clinics such as cardiology, neurology and urology. The west campus will focus on orthopedic and sports medicine, cancer care, women’s health, and heart and vascular services. The project is expected to open in stages starting in late 2025, with full operations by 2031.
The expansion will require hiring 200 to 300 clinicians every year until 2030.
