Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists opens new ASC
Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists has opened a new ASC in Spokane Valley, Washington. Located on the lower level of its existing clinic in Spokane, Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists executives said this new facility provides a convenient, closer-to-home option for patients in the region, complementing the organization’s downtown Spokane location.
“It’s just an exciting expansion for us because there are a lot of people in Spokane Valley and the region overall that can utilize interventional pain procedures,” Trisha Bruininks, marketing specialist for the physician-owned group, told The Spokane Journal.
The ambulatory surgery center has two procedure rooms and is certified with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Bruininks said.
One procedure room is designated for patients undergoing interventional pain management treatments, such as epidural steroid injections, spinal cord stimulation, and peripheral nerve blocks.
The other procedure room is specifically reserved for hand and wrist surgeries performed using the WALANT method, which stands for “wide-awake local anesthesia no tourniquet.”
