Ophthalmology practice Collins Vision has expanded its footprint in Southwest Florida by acquiring the Eye Care and Surgery Center of Southwest Florida in Punta Gorda.
This move allows the practice to broaden its reach into Charlotte County, enhancing access to personalized eye care for the growing community, executives said in a press release.
The acquisition, spearheaded by Collins Vision founder and Medical Director Dr. Michael J. Collins, marks a strategic expansion into a region with increasing demand for specialized ophthalmic services.
“Because we are privately owned, our team can provide an unmatched level of personalized eye care to residents of Charlotte County,” Collins said in a press release.
Collins Vision provides comprehensive eye care procedures, including cataract surgery, LASIK vision correction surgery, oculoplastic surgery, glaucoma evaluation and surgery, retina evaluation and treatment, diabetic eye exams, and regular medical eye exams.
The practice also has a large optical boutique and uses Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) technology in cataract surgery, which allows for post-surgical adjustments to optimize vision.
Collins Vision’s acquisition underscores a growing trend in the ASC landscape – expansion through strategic acquisitions of smaller, established centers.
With nearly 50% of Americans developing cataracts by age 75, the demand for quality cataract surgery and related services is surging.
