AMSURG has added another new JV partnership to its 2024 list.
The ambulatory surgery center (ASC) operator in August announced a joint venture with LifeBridge Health and the Woodholme Group to open the EndoCentre of Westminster, an outpatient surgery center specializing in gastroenterology.
The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) to provide same-day procedure care, including diagnostic and preventive procedures.
In the past three months, the Nashville, Tennessee-based AMSURG, which operates a network of approximately 250 surgery centers nationwide, announced several new joint ventures across a range of specialties in California, Oregon and Nevada.
AMSURG Chief Operating Officer Keith Hennegan previously told ASC News that when sourcing JV partners, the company looks for great clinical partners, first and foremost.
“It’s exciting to say that amidst changes and other factors, one of AMSURG’s core competencies is our aspiration to be a clinical powerhouse,” he said. “Our clinical team is very strong and passionate, so we want to ensure that our partners share that commitment. Additionally, we look for operational partners who are improvement-minded, which we’ve seen in the partners we’ve engaged with.”
LifeBridge Health is a prominent health care system in Maryland, encompassing multiple hospitals and specialized care centers, including Sinai Hospital and Northwest Hospital.
Woodholme Gastroenterology Associates specializes in various procedures such as colonoscopy, endoscopy, and the treatment of conditions like Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It also has multiple locations across the state.
“Woodholme Gastroenterology is delighted to announce the opening of our new state-of-the-art endoscopy center in Westminster,” Edward Wolf, president of Woodholme Gastroenterology Associates, said in a press release. ” … We are confident that this sparkling new venue will be a center of excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of GI disorders, a setting where patients will feel comfortable with our extraordinary staff, and a place of compassion in Woodholme’s quest to enhance the health of our patients.”
