American Vision Partners is acquiring Eye Care Services from Evernorth Care Group.
Phoenix-based American Vision Partners is a fast-growing eye care physician services organization that operates in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and Nevada. It has more than 137 locations in its network, including several ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
Just a handful of its ASCs include the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center, Southwestern Eye Center and West Valley Peaks, which American Vision Partners opened in April 2022.
Evernorth Care Group is the medical practice division of Cigna HealthCare of Arizona.
“It’s been an honor to partner with Evernorth Care Group on a transition plan that not only meets the needs of their patients, while expanding the services available to them, but also provides employment opportunities for their talented doctors and staff throughout our family of eye care practices,” Shane Armstrong, CEO of American Vision Partners, said in a press release.
American Vision Partners will continue to provide services in Evernorth Care Group’s Tempe CJ Harris and Phoenix Westridge health care centers.
“Several eye doctors from Evernorth Care Group will join AVP and continue to serve the eye care needs of the patients in our communities,” the release notes.
Services that American Vision Partners provides include routine eye care, optical retail, general ophthalmology and sub-specialty care for cataracts, retina, glaucoma, cornea, oculoplastics, vision correction procedures, dry-eye treatment, cosmetic services and more.
The deal with Evernorth Care Group represents American Vision Partners’ 18th transaction, according to the release.
“With their comprehensive eye care services, extensive experience and more than 30 locations across the Valley, including two within Evernorth Care Group health centers, patients will have expanded and convenient access to high quality eye care,” Jeff Holt, president and general manager of Evernorth Care Group, said. “We’re also excited to have many of our talented eye doctors join the [American Vision Partners] team, where they can continue to serve our patients and more members of the community.”
American Vision Partners was formed through an investment by the private equity firm HIG Capital.
