AMSURG, a provider of ambulatory surgery center services, has acquired an ownership interest in River Road Surgery Center, an outpatient surgery center in Salem, Oregon.

The facility is multi-use, AMSURG executives told ASC News, though it has a focus on ear, nose and throat (ENT) procedures.

“The outstanding team at River Road Surgery Center offers an opportunity to further AMSURG’s support for multi-use surgery centers,” John Lamberth, senior vice president of development at AMSURG, said in a statement. “As we continue to grow, it is critical to find alignment with our core values of clinical and operational excellence, which we found in the River Road Surgery Center and its partners.”

River Road Surgery Center, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), has three operating rooms and provides comprehensive services for the diagnosis, treatment, and repair of head and neck conditions. These include treatments for ear infections, hearing loss, snoring, sinusitis, tonsillitis, sleep apnea, voice disorders, and neck or throat cancer.

AMSURG operates a network of approximately 250 surgery centers nationwide. And the company may be in acquisition mode.

Since June, AMSURG has announced several new partnerships.

On June 4, AMSURG and Palomar Health formed a strategic joint venture to enhance access and quality care at Poway Surgery Center in North San Diego County. AMURG executive said this collaboration aims to provide a wide range of outpatient surgical care services, including gastroenterology, orthopedics, and ENT, leveraging the strengths and resources of both organizations to improve patient outcomes and access to care in the region.

And on June 18, AMSURG, in collaboration with Comprehensive EyeCare Partners, acquired the Alta Rose Surgery Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, expanding their joint operations to four outpatient ophthalmology surgery centers.
