Regent Surgical has added a key C-suite executive to its leadership team.
The Franklin, Tennessee-based ASC operating company named Christa Blumenshine as its next CFO on June 18. Prior to joining Regent, Blumenshine served as CFO of AmeriVet Veterinary Partners, a private equity-backed consolidator of 210 veterinary practices.
Blumenshine has also held roles at U.S. Renal Care and United Surgical Partners International (USPI).
“Our partners consistently cite our leadership team’s expertise, insights and accessibility as value drivers in our work together,” Regent Surgical CEO Travis Messina said in an announcement. “With Christa’s background on both the payer and provider sides of the industry, as well as her passion for collaborative relationships, she is increasing our ability to combine financial rigor, strategic insights, performance data and industry trend understanding to drive our partners’ market-specific ASC strategies.”
As a company, Regent Surgical specializes in health system ASC joint ventures, with partnerships across the U.S.
The company’s footprint has been growing as of late, too, with Regent recently opening its Fox Valley Surgery Center, its Komoko Center for Outpatient Surgery, its Georgetown Surgery Center and the Lincoln Park Center for Advanced Orthopedic Surgery.
As a CFO, Blumenshine will focus on the direct connection between clinical quality, patient experience and financial performance, the Regent announcement highlighted.
“People may not expect a CFO to place equal value on clinical quality, patient experience and the bottom line, but I believe that you cannot have one without the other,” Blumenshine said. “The ASC sector is seeing immense opportunity as patients and system leaders alike continue realizing the benefit of leveraging outpatient settings, and I’m proud to join a team that is partnering with leading systems and physicians in showcasing that opportunity across the country in ways that are improving quality, exceeding patient expectations and securing operational objectives.”
Regent has made multiple other key executives hires since the start of 2023.
In March 2023, for example, Regent named Erik Kraemer as its chief development officer.
Also toward the start of last year, the company tapped Andrew Sartoris as its vice president of strategic initiatives.
Messina himself joined Regent as its CEO in August 2023.
