AMSURG and Comprehensive EyeCare Partners (CompEye) have jointly acquired Alta Rose Surgery Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This acquisition marks the fourth outpatient surgery center under the AMSURG and CompEye partnership.
AMSURG operates a network of approximately 250 surgery centers nationwide, specializing in gastroenterology, ophthalmology and orthopedics. As a result of Envision Healthcare’s restructuring, AMURG became an independent company in November 2023.
CompEye supports over 100 doctors across 48 clinics and 11 ambulatory surgery centers in Nevada, Washington, Utah and Texas.
“As part of our mission to restore and preserve our community’s vision, Comprehensive EyeCare Partners is excited to expand our surgical footprint with the addition of Alta Rose,” Keith Hartman, Comprehensive EyeCare Partners CEO, said in a press release. “Partnering our team of expert eye care professionals with AMSURG will allow us to continue to meet the needs of a growing Southern Nevada population.”
John Lamberth, senior vice president of development at AMSURG, said the center’s integration into the AMSURG-CompEye network aligns with their shared vision of clinical and operational excellence.
The center has a strong track record in ophthalmology services, cataract surgery, refractive eye surgery and laser vision correction, he noted.
“Alta Rose Surgery Center’s reputation for high-quality ophthalmology care perfectly aligns with AMSURG’s commitment to clinical and operational excellence,” he said in a press release. “Together with CompEye, we are excited to support the outstanding team at Alta Rose.”
The move is part of a growing trend where hospital systems seek expert ambulatory surgery center (ASC) partners to reduce health care costs and improve patient and payer relationships.
Earlier this month, AMSURG formed a joint venture with Palomar Health, a prominent West Coast health system, to manage the Poway Surgery Center in California.
